The Saint Lawrence Musical Society will be participating with the following programme in the Festivities of Holy Week 2018.

Thursday 22nd March – Opening of ‘Getsemani’ exhibition

Sunday25th March – PALM SUNDAY
At 1030am The Saint Lawrence Musical Society, Vittoriosa together with the Saint Joseph Musical Society, Kalkara will be once again performing a ‘Holy Week Musical Programme’ with the participation of the bandsmen and students of both musical societies. This programme will be held at Pjazza tal-Belt Vittoriosa, Vittoriosa and the band will be under the direction of Assistant Director Francois Borg.

Friday 29th March – GOOD FRIDAY
At 530pm The Saint Lawrence Band will present a musical programme in the Vittoriosa Main Square during the initial part of the procession which starts going out from the Collegiate and Conventual Church of Saint Lawrence. When the statue of the Crucifixion enters the Square the Vittoriosa Band will accompany the procession in front of the same statue and along the main streets of Vittoriosa. The band will be under the direction of Maestro Jonathan Abela.

Saturday 30th March – EASTER SATURDAY
At 1015pm After the Church service a ‘Cold Buffet’ will be held at the Main Hall of ‘Palazzo Huesca’ with bandsmen, members and supporters of the band celebrating together the Feast of Easter Sunday.

Sunday 1st April – EASTER SUNDAY
At 10am the Saint Lawrence Band accompanies the statue of the Risen Christ along the main streets of Vittoriosa. When the statue arrives in front of the band club a new flag will be inaugurated to mark the 135th anniversary of the Vittoriosa Band.
