Another great march on Wednesday 8th August by the Saint Lawrence Band who accompanied the statue of St Lawrence until being erected on the pedestal. The Glorious City was full of locals and tourists with the ‘Partitarji Palmizi’ making a wonderful atmosphere with their merry making and singing to the various tunes of the band. When the statue arrived in the Vittoriosa Square in front of ‘Palazzo Huesca’ singer Ludwig Galea performed a number of songs with the march proceeding towards Main Gate Street until the statue was erected to the tune of the wonderful hymn dedicated to St Lawrence composed by Maestro Lorenzo Galea. During the same night the Associazione Culturale Musicale ‘Synphonica Citta di Viagrande’ played band marches and later presented a musical programme on the main bandstand at Pjazza tal-Belt Vittoriosa. Another night where it was confirmed that we are by far the best feast in Cottonera and one of the top feasts on the island.
