Early this morning the Saint Lawrence Band accompanied by a number of supporters left Malta for Viagrande, Sicily to perform marches and musical programmes. The Vittoriosa Band has been invited to play during the feast of Saint Mauro, Patron Saint of Viagrande, a locality near Catania. In its rich history the Saint Lawrence Band played in Catania in 1903, Messina a year later, Tunisia in 1927 and the most recent in the year 2010 in Belgium when it became the first band to play in Dar Malta, Brussells. This tour will kick start the activities marking the 135th anniversary of the Saint Lawrence Band Club. The Band will be under the baton of Maestro Jonathan Abela.
